Hadley Opens New Facility in the Netherlands

Warehouse and assembly location boosts service to European Customers

Hadley Europe BV

Hadley, a world leading solutions provider to the truck and transit industry, recently opened its European office in Moordrecht, Netherlands.  Bob Dubsky, President of Hadley Global made the announcement today. The Moordrecht facility is both a warehouse as well as an assembly location to service Hadley’s European customers.

The Moordrecht facility, known as Hadley Europe B.V., is in response to their European OEM customers’ desire to deal with Hadley directly, without a distributor – and to be able to have a stronger relationship with Hadley’s quality and engineering departments.  Hadley’s Western Europe customers include DAF, Scania, MAN, Mercedes, Renault, Volvo, and VanHool directly or indirectly through aftermarket partners.

The new location is centrally located to Hadley’s current as well as potential future customers. Logistics are made easy from Moordrecht with transportation routes in all directions, giving Hadley the ability to better service their European customers. In addition to easier sourcing within Europe, Hadley’s customers will benefit from free export within the European Union. It also opens the doors to new customers that only source in Europe.

“This is an exciting time for Hadley to now have options for Global capability of Manufacturing  and Warehousing products near our European customers”, said Dubsky.  “This will open up additional customer opportunities in Europe and surrounding areas.”

Hadley opens the new location with 885 square meters (9,526 sq ft) of facility & office space and will initially stock air horns, mechanical leveling valves for cab suspensions, and mirror systems.  As Hadley expands their products and sales in Europe, they have the option to expand to 1,477 square meters (15,898 sq ft) within 3 years.

“The big advantage for us is we can receive extra shipments really fast from the Netherlands”, said Veerle Gelders, Supply & Inventory Control SLP for Scania Parts Logistics in Belgium. “If a customer places an additional order that was not foreseen, we can fulfill it much faster because of the inventory supply. In the past, unplanned shipments took an extra week to receive. Now we are receiving those sooner and without the additional airfreight costs.”

As part of the planned expansion, Hadley announced the promotion of Serge Barlas from General Manager of Hadley, to Vice President of Global Operations. Mr. Barlas will head up the Engineering, Operations and Quality for all Hadley divisions including Europe. “In order to ensure the changes will be transparent to our customers in Western Europe, it is critical that we have a robust transition plan and appropriate resources”, said Dubsky. “Hadley Europe B.V. will operate with the same systems and processes as Hadley’s Global operations in the United States, making Serge Barlas’ in-depth knowledge of Hadley’s people, customers, products, and processes valuable.”

Additional personnel changes include Raoul Stasse, who has been with Hadley for 4 years based in the Netherlands. Mr. Stasse will be the Business Development Manager – Europe.

Hadley will start deliveries from the new location during the latter part of 2013 and begin assembly work in early 2014. Kirsten van Gerwen will manage the warehouse, overseeing shipping systems as well as customer service. Mr. van Gerwen joined Hadley B.V. from their previous Logistics Service Provider, Broekman Logistics in the Netherlands.

Hadley is well known in Europe for its air horns, especially by truck drivers. Additionally, Hadley is already experiencing strong sales in cab leveling valves with the new DAF Euro6 trucks which utilize the Hadley 600 series height control valve. They also anticipate growth in the bus and coach industry where Hadley supplies mirror systems that appeal to that market segment.
