Hadley’s IAA Debut is a Demonstration of Technologies
Hadley, a world leading solutions provider to the truck and transit industry, showcased their products and innovations for the first time to attendees of the IAA Commercial Vehicle Exposition in Hannover, Germany held September 25 to October 2, 2014.
Founded in 1945, Hadley made a name in the industry with its flagship product, the Hadley air horn. Since then, Hadley has expanded to become a well-known and respected supplier of quality components and solutions for the Class 5-8 Truck and Tractor, Trailer, Transit & Shuttle Bus, RV, Motorcoach, Specialty Vehicle markets and associated aftermarket distribution.
Hadley opened its European office in Moordrecht, Netherlands in 2013. The facility in Moordrecht is both a warehouse as well as an assembly location to service Hadley’s European customers. Hadley’s Global Headquarters and Truck Division are based in Grandville, Michigan. Hadley’s Transit Division is located in Elkhart, Indiana.

Front and center of the Hadley exhibit is a prototype product demonstrating new technology called Sensamatic. Sensamatic provides integration of numerous components into the simplified smart air-spring system being displayed. It utilizes intelligent features provided by Hadley’s innovative SmartValve. The development of Sensamatic is a partnership with Veyance Technologies. Veyance will be exhibiting at IAA in an adjacent booth that joins Hadley and the Sensamatic display.
Attendees of IAA were also the first to view the prototype of Hadley’s Digital Signage System. The dynamic information and advertising was displayed on monitors installed inside a transit bus model.
Hadley’s Digital Signage System uses a cutting edge software platform that allows Transit Authorities and their Advertising Partners to publish and plan content and advertising in a very effective time saving manner. The technology triggering localized information is called GeoFence Scheduling. The software receives a “trigger” signal that allows for location based route information.
“Digital Signage enhances passenger convenience with customizable content that provides real time information, weather updates and traffic conditions as well as dining, entertainment and shopping options at the next stop and along the route”, said Giorgio Verduzio, Director of Transit for Hadley.
Hadley showcased the expanding line of products they provide to European Customers. Hadley is well known in Europe for its air horns, especially by truck drivers. Additionally, Hadley’s cab leveling valves and mirror systems were displayed with new and evolving technologies presented in both. Hadley’s new standard transit mirrors are displayed with innovative options like breakaway arm, auto-return and object detection sensors. Even the mirror controls are new with a low profile, in-dash design, LED indicator lights and the ability to control up to 4 panes of mirror glass with one sleek control pad.
